Lacey was honored to have the opportunity to choreograph a piece for The Ann Lacy School of American Dance and Entertainment’s Student Choreography Show 2025, Just Getting Started. She presented a piece entitled, “I Lived,” with the intent to celebrate life. This has been her favorite experience at OCU and is grateful for all of the mentorship she recieved throughout this process.

Just Getting Started

Lacey has been working with Variety the Children’s Charity of St. Louis at their Adventure Camp during summer and winter breaks for 7 years. Adventure Camp is a program where children with cognitive and physical disabilities have the opportunity to have a safe, fun, and exciting camp experience. This year Lacey worked as a Music/Movement specialist leading groups in song and dance. She created and led activities that allowed campers of all abilities to participate. Lacey hopes to continue her work in making music and dance accessible for all.

Music/Movement Specialist

At OCU, Lacey had the opportunity to be a performer in the Project 21 Concert. Project 21 is an on-campus organization that writes original music. For this concert, a student choreographer from the Ann Lacy School of American Dance and Entertainment teams up with composers to bring their piece of music to life. Lacey loved getting to work with choreographer Emma Jenkins, composers Hamad Erfani & Antonio Gallegos, along with fellow performers Lowery Devore and Emmy Greene on “The Sound of What Remains.”

OCUNYC Workshop

Over spring break 2025, Lacey participated in the OCUNYC workshop. There she was able to see many Broadway shows, take class from OCU Alumni industry professionals, and sit in on informative panels and q&a’s. Lacey is so grateful to OCU and OCUNYC for providing such a wonderful opportunity for her and her peers.

Move! 2025

In March, Lacey performed with Star Dance Company in their spring show Move! She had the opportunity to perform in multiple dances, learn some stage combat, and serve as a line captain.

Every December, Star Dance Company performs in a holiday show in the Kirkpatrick Theatre. This year, Lacey was able to dance in so many incredible pieces. One of her favorites being “Christmas Morning Feeling” choreographed by Jessica Fay where she portrayed Mrs. Clause! Holiday Spectacular 2024 was such a joyful experience.

On Our Way

Lacey had the incredible opportunity to participate as a dancer in the Ann Lacy School of American Dance and Entertainment’s Student Choreography Show. She feels so blessed to have been able to work with Vanessa Flynn, choreographer of “Heartburn.”

In June 2024, Lacey made her professional performance debut in the ensemble of Mary Poppins at Lyric Theatre of Oklahoma. This experience really showed her that musical theatre is what she wants to do for the rest of her life! Working with the incredible cast, crew, and creative team starring Adrianna Hicks, and Cory Linger was so insipring.
